Here’s a modelling tutorial for Lightwave 3D that works well in Blender.
The changes we needed to make while following the tutorial were:
- Blender uses edge creases (Shift-E) instead of sharpness values.
- Replaced the “Bandsaw” function with simple extrude.
- Cylinders cannot be created with a set number of vertical cuts, but must be created with the dimensions, then Ctrl-R to sub-divide it as needed.
- Replacing their lathe tool with a combination of spinning and the screw modifier in Blender, can result in the same tube as the original tutorial.
